Jaime was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in June 2017 after serving her pupillage with Mr. Kay K.W. Chan, Mr. John Reading S.C., Mr. Robin Egerton, and Mr. Steven Kwan. Prior to Jaime’s pupillage, she completed P.C.LL. at the University of Hong Kong and LL.B. at the Chinese University of Hong Kong upon receiving Honours at Entrance.
During her pupillage, she worked on various practice areas, with particular focus on family and criminal law. Jaime has special interest in family law, criminal law, personal injuries, employment law and animal law. She is developing a mixed civil and criminal practice.
On the criminal side, she handles a wide range of cases from mitigating at the Magistracy level to prosecuting (on fiat) at jury trials in the Court of First Instance.
On the civil side, Jaime has appeared in a number of hearings, including successfully applying for leave to appeal from the Small Claims Tribunal in the Court of First Instance, interlocutory applications in the District Court, and a variety of hearings in the Family Court. Jaime has also given advice on areas ranging from personal injuries, defamation, employees’ compensation to lands resumption. Jaime is also a contributor of the Hong Kong Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents (LexisNexis) on Employment Law.
Jaime accepts instructions in criminal and general civil matters conducted in both Chinese and English.
